Clever Cloggs Day Nursery

Description

Clever Clogs Day Nursery is conveniently situated in central Brentwood close to both the town centre and railway station.

The nursery is headed by an extremely experienced manager who has been with nurseries for fifteen years and who holds an NVQ Level 3 qualification and Level 5 Management. We also employ a number of senior nursery nurses and a team of nursery nurses and nursery assistants.

In addition, staff hold First Aid Certificates relevant to young children. Staff have been specifically trained in order that we may deliver a curriculum consistent with most children achieving (and in some cases exceeding) the Early Learning Goals by the end of the Foundation Stage.

We cater for children aged 0 - 11 years. Children are grouped according to age and those aged 0-7 years 11 months are accommodated separately in spacious facilities.

We operate a structured day within the nursery and work to a set timetable of activities. All children are encouraged to participate in the various activities.

We gradually introduce simple phonic and number work incorporating activities and games, rhymes etc meanwhile developing motor skills.

Classroom activities are integrated into the nursery day for our three and four year olds. We have CD Rom computers. The reading scheme in operation is the Oxford Reading Tree, the most popular scheme in the UK. The core subjects of the National Curriculum - English, Maths and Science are addressed in the various classroom activities and an awareness of European languages is incorporated into the curriculum.

All children have access to a wide variety of stimulating activities - art & craft, music, topic / interest tables, stories, cooking activities, nature study etc. Freeplay occurs at intervals during the day when use is made of the larger equipment, table-top activities, sand and water, role play materials etc.

The nursery has a large enclosed garden.

Breakfast is provided for those children who arrive by 8.30am, a cooked midday meal is provided for those children attending all day and those attending the morning session. Milk and fruit are provided mid-morning and afternoon tea is provided mid-afternoon.

We aim to provide a stimulating and caring environment catering for every child's needs; furthermore, to ensure that each child reaches their full potential whilst in our care.
