We are searching for a dynamic, proactive, inspirational & experienced area nursery manager who has a genuine passion for Early Years education & outcomes of the Children in our care, along with the expertise & confidence to deliver & support the sustained development & progress of all our nurseries.
As a Shooting Stars Area Manager you will be highly self-motivated & organised, overseeing & leading our Nursery Management teams, staff teams & the operation of our day nursery settings to the highest standards, whilst reporting & supporting the directors to ensure the continued success of all settings. You will ensure the best possible environment & the highest quality of care & Early Years education is delivered at all times, whilst ensuring all legal & statutory requirements are met in accordance with Shooting Stars Nurseries Policies and Procedures.

About the role
Key Responsibilities
· Supporting & leading strategic & operational planning to ensure the success of all SS nursery settings.
· Supporting each Nursery Management Team to achieve effective leadership & administration.
· Continuously work to monitor, assess & improve the quality of childcare and education.
· Compliance - lead role, ensuring all settings are compliant with all legal & statutory requirements& Statutory Framework for the EYFS.
· Leading training & development, to ensure delivery against set goals & objectives & team members readily access appropriate CPD & training.
· Overseeing all HR functions, monitoring & supporting management staff performance.
· Overseeing & ensuring appropriate levels of qualified/unqualified staff are recruited, maintained & retained.
· Health & safety - adhere to all policies & procedures, monitoring other staff members' performance.
· Inspections - Work with Nursery Managers & inspectors & assist in the implementation of any recommendations.
· Maintaining a robust safeguarding culture, so children are kept safe & staff understand when and how to follow Safeguarding Procedures.
· Develop & maintain effective relationships with area SENDCOs, Early Years Advisors, Advisory Teachers, health professionals and locality specific programmes and other professional agencies as appropriate.
· Carry out regular internal Quality Audits at each nursery.
· Be fully conversant with the childcare business - maximising gross margin & profitability against the need to maintain quality.
· Liaising with the Nursery Manager's and Directors to action & deliver individual nursery marketing plans.
· Review, monitor & maintain occupancy levels to maximum capacity, ensure ratio and conditions of registration are adhered to.
· Ensuring that the budgets are observed, maintained & delivered.
· To oversee resources, purchase orders & systems for the nurseries.
· Liaising with the Directors so relevant financial information is communicated & appropriate reports completed.
· Lead own professional development & effectively cascade to staff team. Be responsible for participating in all self-development activities including appraisals, supervisions, Managers meetings, briefings etc.
· Adhere to all company policies & procedures, monitor & manage other staff members' deliverance.
· Ensure the company's policies on diversity & equal opportunities are adhered to.
· Willingness to help out in all areas of the business where necessary & undertake any other duties as requested by the directors.

· A full & relevant minimum level three qualification as defined by the CWDC. For example: NVQ 3, NNEB, BTEC National, etc.
· Early Years Qualification at degree level
· Relevant childcare & Safeguarding qualifications in accordance with OFSTED guidelines
· Designated Safeguarding Lead
· Professional childcare related, leadership & management, HR or Health & Safety qualification
· Minimum 3 year's post qualifying experience within a professional Early Years childcare & education environment.
· Leadership, management &/or supervisory experience of a large diverse team
· Act as an advocate for children at all times
· Ability to lead provision & practice from a child first approach
· Excellent organizational, written & verbal communication skills
· Ability to manage & lead a diverse team
· ICT literate & competent
· Ability to use initiative & work under pressure
· Tenacious drive & motivation to achieve goals
· Excellent customer service skills
· Ability to independently travel across a wide geographical area
· Proactive & pragmatic approach to problem solving
· Driving License
