Early Years Teaching Assistant
A large Special Needs School Lambeth is recruiting several Early Years Teaching Assistants to start in September. These are full-time position for the remainder of the academic year paid via the agency.
The school caters for students aged 2-11 with an EHCP for Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism (ASD) and complex needs. They have a strong academic focus; however, they also wish to develop student's independence in a fun and nurturing way.
Shortlisted candidates must have proven experience in the UK. A strong working knowledge of the EYFS framework is essential. Classes generally have 4-6 students, with 2-3 teaching assistants depending on the class needs. Classes are mixed ability; therefore, it is imperative you are confident taking part in all activities and lessons. You must also be comfortable completing personal care. Many of the students have communication difficulties, therefore experience with PECs and Makaton is desirable.
This is a high achieving school, and they are keen to employ staff who are dedicated, dynamic and have a real passion for SEN. In return they can offer a happy working environment and competitive pay rates.
