Job Description

Role: Music Coordinator
Location: Islington
Salary: £22,907- £25,497 term time only
Start Date: Immediately
Contract: Fixed term until August 2022

35 hours per week: (phone number removed)pm with a 45 minute lunch break

Be prepared to attend evening out of hours events for which overtime will be paid

GSL is looking for a candidate who has a passion for music and experience of teaching music or an instrument in a creative and highly engaging fashion. It is imperative that the successful candidate is able to synthesise performance, ensemble, aural and theory skills in their lessons and tuition groups in a manner that fully enables students to flourish as independent musicians and equips them with vital skills needed for holistic musicianship.

Requirements:

To facilitate music peripatetic music teaching
To increase the visibility of music across the school by encouraging those who learn instruments out of school to join orchestras, bands and other ensembles
To run large mixed ability multi-instrumentalist ensembles
To run composition workshops and support across KS4/5 composition lessons
To lead singing ensembles across the school, including singing assemblies
To increase the uptake and participation in music across the school
To lead singing lessons
