Career Teachers are looking for a nursery manager to join a wonderful nursery in Harrow as a Nursery Manager.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To support the Schools' mission, vision, values and objectives.
To implement the Schools' policies and practices.
To contribute to the Schools' commitment to continuous improvement.
To be in class in the mornings, admin time in the afternoons.
Devise long and medium term curriculum plans for the EYFS that show progression through the age groups.
Manage systems for assessment and reporting and keep records of children's development and progress through the EYLog.
Ensure the school provides a healthy and safe environment at all times for all children and staff. Be familiar with and implement all health & safety procedures. Report immediately any repair or maintenance work required.
Organise staff timetables and rotas to ensure adequate staff ratios and use of resources.
Maintain accurate documentation e.g. registers, class lists, funding forms, staff attendance and absence etc…
Ensure staff and children are regularly observed to ensure the education, care and of all pupils is of the highest quality.
To co-ordinate and deliver staff meetings and staff training.
Work as a member of a team to ensure that the highest standards of professional conduct in childcare are maintained at all times.
Ensure effective communication and consultation with parents including regular reports, questionnaires and newsletters (working w Headteacher)
Maintain positive relationships with staff and parents.
Keep up to date with the latest professional knowledge & practices including OFSTED requirements to ensure the school is fully compliant for the next inspection.
Ensure full compliance with all childcare protection requirements as well as ensuring the School Safeguarding policy and procedures are followed. Be the schools Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Organise staffing and registers for the Holiday Club so we offer a year round provision for the pupils.
Work at the holiday club for at least 8 weeks in the year (approx. 50% of the time) ensuring other staff are available to cover the other 50%.
Ensure the co-ordination and smooth running of the admissions process linked to School enrolment to ensure students register their child in time for start of term.
Work with the Headteacher to help market the school.
Work with the School to help and support them when necessary.
Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Headteacher.Person Specification:
Education - At least Level 3 Childcare qualification but ideally Early Years Professional Status / Early Years Teacher Status.
Experience with working with children 0 to 5 years.
Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
Good ICT skills - Outlook, Excel and Word.
Excellent teacher practitioner, so can model best practice to other staff.
Ability to relate to staff and motivate them to be the best that they can be.
Ability to hold people to account and have difficult conversations.
Ability to communicate in both group and individual settings.
Ability to relate to parents and external organisations.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all policy and procedures relating to care and education of children 0-5 years in particular strong knowledge of Health and Safety and Safeguarding.

Is able to read a ten page story, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.
