2 nurseries in East London are looking for a Nursery Manager for leading and managing all elements of day-to-day nursery provision and provide visible leadership for the local nursery community. The nurseries are well-established with committed staff teams, 2 deputy managers, and strong relationship with local families, Ofsted and the wider local community and organisations.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a busy role providing sense of direction, purpose, and visible leadership across the nurseries with 70+ children across the two sites. The existing staff are committed and eager to have a supportive manager to help develop their practice to provide consistently outstanding support to the children as they grow and develop, as well as maintain a strong bond with the children's families and carers.
Both sites are organised on an independent financial basis to help create a sense of identity, independence, and purpose. Your role is to ensure each entity runs smoothly and that they have the children's needs front and centre, so they can learn and grow in a safe, welcoming and encouraging environment.
You're hands-on and eager to set an atmosphere where people enjoy their work and caring for the children in their charge. You train, mentor and coach people for constant improvement, as well as organising rotas, invoicing and payroll.
You represent the organisation with its partners and interested groups, and are the Ofsted nominated person. The organisation has worked hard to be held in high regard and is eager to play its part in the local community, as well as conform to all its regulatory requirements.
You've developed your own management career in nursery education because it's more than just a job. You get a real kick out of building something worthwhile that helps children take on the world with confidence and a set of values they understand. You're an outstanding communicator, formal and informally across a wide spread of relevant audiences.
Have previous experience of managing/ leading a similar setting.
Up to date knowledge of EYFS framework and regulations
Excellent knowledge of other regulatory frameworks
Knowledge of Safeguarding children and keeping them safe
Awareness of health and safety requirements
Proven success in managing provision and innovative teaching across the Early Years Foundation stage
Commitment to and understanding of the importance of Early Years Practice GEOGRAPHY - The nurseries operate across 2 sites in East London
SALARY - Basic salary is circa £35,000 and access to a bonus programme, alongside a business skills training programme.
