Location: Knaresborough or Pannal
Salary: Competitive
Contract: Permanent full-time. Monday-Friday.
Qualifications: Must have NVQ Level 3

Role Purpose

To contribute to a high quality caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
Encourage and support other team members that are working within the room
Promote positive relationships in the early years' setting
Support the children's development, learning and play
Be a Key Person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families
Contribute to the effectiveness of team work
Be a role model and be able to showcase high quality practice with regards to individual and group work with children
To take responsibility alongside the team and Room Head for the safety, security and well-being of all children, staff and visitors at all times
To ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed in line with Local Authority and Company Procedures
To support the nursery in reaching an 'Outstanding' or 'Good' grade with Ofsted
To embrace, understand and promote Kids at Heart and to understand the role you play as part of the team to provide high levels of care and education

Person Specification

Has good knowledge of the EYFS and a commitment to the provision of high quality childcare
Has a comprehensive understanding of 'Safeguarding' and reporting
A positive approach to gaining further qualifications
Has a good understanding of the importance of Health and Safety
Willing to comply with the DBS regulations
Willing to complete First Aid, Safeguarding, Prevent courses and any other courses relevant to the job role
Enthusiasm for working with young children
A positive approach and attitude to inclusive practice with children and colleagues along with learning and gaining new skills through team work and training opportunities
Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills
Can adapt well to change
Punctuality
Good communication skills
Patience
Empathy with children, colleagues and parents / carers
Reliability, trustworthiness and confidentiality
