Nursery Practitioner Duties
To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
To help to set up and tidy away at the end of the day.
To act as a key person to a small group of children.
Liaise closely and build a relationship with parents/carers.
Ensure each child's needs are recognised and met.
To advise the Manager of any concerns.
To support the setting to achieve and maintain at least a good Ofsted rating
To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play
Ensure children are kept safe.
Understand when to follow child protection.
To support meal times within the setting.
To actively participate at team meetings.
Attend training courses as required
Take responsibility for personal development
To be aware of and adhere to all the setting's operational policies and procedures.
To ensure that records are kept and updated.
Person specification - Essential
Qualified early year's practitioner with a level 2 qualification or above
Previous experience of working with young children.
Sound knowledge of child development from birth to five
Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
Good communication
An understanding of play-based approaches to children's learning and development
Desirable criteria
Hold or work towards National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination
Current First Aid at Work qualification/ Pediatric First Aid.
This nursery has two sites, one in N8 and one in N15 where they need nursery practitioners at both.
