Speech & Language Therapist


Band 5/6 Salary AfC + LW pro-rata Term time only plus 4 weeks

Mon - Fri (Apply online only)

Position to start as soon as possible

My client, a Special Needs School close to Tadworth in Surrey, is currently recruiting a Band 5/6 Speech & Language Therapist for their therapeutic provision in Tadworth, Surrey. The school provides specialist therapeutic education for pupils aged 6-14 who, in addition to their high functioning ASD, present with complex SEMH needs due to experiences of early childhood adversity. The model is integrative, incorporating psychodynamic and systemic practice, underpinned by the principles of positive behaviour support.

The successful candidates will join the multi-disciplinary team of various professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, assistant psychologists, and music therapist.

Main responsibilities will involve:

Assessment and intervention planning
Group and individual therapy as required
Working within classes and providing consultative support as part of the multi-disciplinary team
Development and implementation of training for staff and other professionals
Curriculum development
Report writing and record keeping

About You:

Highly motivated, passionate, dynamic and flexible
Has highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
Hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
Is RCSLT and HCPC registered
Relevant experience of working with young people with special needs, including autism spectrum disorder, Asperger's syndrome and Social, emotional and mental health needs desirable
