Veritas are currently working with a prep school in Wimbledon that are looking to recruit a teaching assistant to work one to one with a lovely child in key stage 1. The teaching assistant would be interviewed by the school with the view to start immediately. The ideal teaching assistant candidate will have experience working within SEN, specifically a child with communication difficulties and the teaching assistant should be fun, professional and high energy. You will be working in a year 1 classroom 5 days a week. The school is a lovely preparatory school, the children are eager to learn and well behaved. The school has parking facilities should you choose to drive and is near a few national rail train stations.
The successful applicant will help assess the childs learning, social and emotional needs and give the necessary help to remove the barriers to learning.
Key skills and experience needed:
SEN experience is preferred, preferably with young children.
Knowledge of KS1.
Experience helping in a classroom.
Strong behaviour management.
Enthusiastic, positive, and friendly approach.
Flexible attitude, open to each day being different.
Excellent communication skills.
