Teaching Personnel has been approached by a Special School in central Darwen who require a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to add to their growing team.

The school caters for children with Mild Learning Difficulties, Physical Disabilities and Autism. The school caters for pupils aged 2-19 and provides specialist provisions to help them to thrive.

The Teaching Assistant will under the direction and control of the class teacher. At Grade 2 you will be expected to work under less direct supervision by the class teacher and at times be expected to use their own initiative to organise activities and tasks. The role will include, supporting the class teacher to engage the pupils and support their learning. The role also requires you to provide small group intervention and facilitate "break out" breakout lessons so all pupils receive additional support.

The school ensures that the children get the highest quality of care as it has access to a range of specialist facilities. Therefore the ideal candidate must be comfortable working with multiple agencies to ensure that the specific child can achieve the best they can.

The school looks at each child individually so an ideal candidate should be able to build rapport with others easily in order to understand how each child operates.

Ideally a candidate should come from a caring or nurturing background.

Team teach trained is preferred but not essential.

The working hours are 8.15 am - 2.45 pm.

The pay for this role is £10.20 per hour but could be higher depending on experience.
