A helping hand from you. A head start for them.

We want all our young people to have the best chance of success in life. To make sure that s the case, you ll give them extra help when they re in the classroom. The right support can really make an enormous difference. As a Learning Support Assistant, you have to be understanding and committed. That s because the young people in our schools have social, emotional, mental health and complex learning needs that call for extra dedication. Help them progress and you ll have every opportunity to do the same with your career.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant at Greenholm School (Sutton), you ll be working directly with young people in the classroom every day. You ll help them learn, monitor their work and help raise their self-esteem. It s not just about academic achievement; we want them to feel accepted and confident in their abilities. You ll need to be very resilient and dedicated to the wellbeing of our young people. Your support can be invaluable to teachers and young people, which means it s very rewarding.

Your Profile

With ideal Learning Support Assistant experience already, you should be used to life in the classroom and up to date with welfare and safeguarding practices within Education. You ll also need to be qualified to at least NVQ level 2 (or equivalent), but what we re really looking for is the ability to connect. We need you to build great relationships with all our young people, so you can motivate them to do well and be the best that they can be. If you re emotionally strong and good in a team, we can offer a role with exciting prospects. There are occasional meetings outside school hours, for which your attendance will be required.
